The event, held at the Beijing Sports University, celebrated the heritage of Nike China athletes. 1984 marked the first year the Chinese Olympic team participated in the modern Games. A single photo of the team was taken in the Nike headquarters in Beaverton Oregon. The Nike clothing line for the 2008 Olympic Games was inspired by retro looks seen in the photo. The event, to celebrate the clothing launch, took invited guests on a journey back in time to China in the 1980’s.
